Premises Manager

Salary: £32,061 - £35,412 per annum, plus Outer London Fringe Allowance (£729 per annum)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Location: Henry Moore Primary School, Harlow, with occasional travel to other Trust locations
Responsible to: Chief Operations Officer

Harlow Inspirational Learning Trust is a successful and ambitious multi-academy trust serving approximately 800 pupils across two primary schools in Harlow: The Henry Moore Primary School and Milwards Primary School and Nursery.

We are now seeking an experienced, practical and proactive Premises Manager to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and developing our school environments.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled premises professional to take a leading role in ensuring our school environments are safe, secure, compliant and well maintained.
Working closely with the Chief Operations Officer, you will lead the day-to-day management of premises, maintenance, compliance, cleaning and site security. You will oversee contractors, support the management of caretaking and cleaning colleagues and help drive continual improvements to our systems, standards and facilities.
The role combines hands-on practical work with the organisation and management of compliance, maintenance programmes and contractor activity.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing planned and reactive maintenance across the Trust
Overseeing statutory compliance checks and maintaining accurate records
Supporting the implementation of health and safety procedures
Managing contractors and external maintenance works
Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and site presentation
Supporting school events, lettings and out-of-hours activities
Maintaining secure and safe school environments
Supporting and supervising caretaking and cleaning colleagues
Identifying and resolving maintenance and operational issues promptly
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in premises, facilities or site management
Has experience supervising or managing staff
Understands health and safety and statutory compliance requirements
Has practical maintenance and repair skills
Can effectively coordinate contractors and maintenance programmes
Is organised, proactive and solutions-focused
Takes pride in maintaining high standards
Has strong communication and record-keeping skills
Is comfortable working independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team
Experience of working within a school or educational setting would be advantageous.

Information about the School
Harlow Inspirational Learning Trust
The Henry Moore Primary School opened in September 2001. The school became an Academy MAT in November 2015 and a Sponsor in March 2016. It is the founding member of Harlow Inspirational Learning Trust.
Henry Moore School has 570 children on role and 94 members of staff
The Henry Moore School has been well-maintained over the years and re-modelled many times. There are nineteen classes. As well as the classrooms there are six offices, a computer suite, library, food technology room and two halls, one of which accommodates a breakfast and after school club.
The field is astro turf and is used year round for playtimes and sport. There is high fencing around the school and the site and school are accessed via electronic doors and gates. The governing body has made a commitment to modify the school where and when necessary to meet the specific needs of pupils.
