Nurture Den is a growing childcare provision delivering a high quality holiday club, and enriching experiences for children.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and confident Deputy Holiday Club Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our holiday club provision and help support the manager in delivering outstanding experiences for children and families.

The Role

Seasonal fixed term contract with opportunities for addtional paid work throughout the year.

Hours - 30-36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, required during the school holidays only (Easter, Summer, Half Terms).

This is a hands-on childcare leadership role supporting the Manager in the daily running of the club.

The successful candidate will help lead activities, support staff, promote high standards of care and ensure children enjoy a safe, positive and engaging experience.

The role would suit someone with experience in childcare, education, holiday clubs or similar settings who is looking to take on additional responsibility within a supportive and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Support the manager with the daily operational tasks of the holiday club.

Lead and help deliver engaging high quality activities for children aged 5-14 years.

Support & guide staff performance through positive leadership and role modelling during sessions.

Help maintain a safe, fun and inclusive environment.

Promote positive behaviour and children's wellbeing.

Support safeguarding and welfare procedures.

Oversee registers, record keeping and general administration.

Support communication with parents and carers where required.

Assist with planning, preparation and organisation of holiday club programmes.

Step into a leadership role when required in the Manager's absence.


Essential Requirements

Experience working with children in a childcare, education, or similar environment.

Available to work during the school holidays.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work confidently as part of a team and lead when required.

Good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Right to work in the UK.

Awareness of Health and safety policies and procedures in a childcare setting.

Desirable

Level 3 Childcare Qualification/PGCE/HLTA (or equivalent).

Previous experience leading a team, activities or supervising staff.

Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Experience within holiday clubs, wraparound care, schools or early years settings.

Nurture Den is a Holiday Club for children aged 5-14 located in the village of Boreham, Chelmsford. Our holiday club operates from 8:30am -5:30 pm.

We offer flexible full and Part time positions during the School Holidays. We provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment during school half terms and summer holiday, ensuring all children have an enjoyable time while parents can focus on work or extra -curricular activities. We offer a wide variety of activities, sports, and creative sessions.
