Start Date: January 2027 -although an earlier start date may be available by mutual agreement.

Whilst these positions are planned to commence in January 2027, we recognise that talented teachers do not always become available at the same time. We would therefore be happy to discuss an earlier start date with suitable candidates where appropriate.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our provision, Hatfield Wick Education is seeking to appoint a number of passionate and committed Teachers to join our expanding team.

The successful candidates will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to primary and/or secondary-aged students, supporting engagement, progress, and personal development.Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to trauma-informed and relational practice, recognising the impact that adverse experiences can have on learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing. They will be skilled in adapting teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective teaching adapted to meet individual learner needs across primary and/or secondary phases.
  • Contribute flexibly to curriculum delivery as required.
  • Monitor, assess and record student progress to inform planning and targeted support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
  • Use adaptive teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of learners and remove barriers to learning.
  • Develop positive, trusting relationships that support engagement, emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
  • Deliver teaching using trauma-informed and relational approaches that promote safety, belonging and success.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, positive and structured learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and support curriculum development.
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct at all times.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external professionals.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching children and young people with a range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Have an understanding of trauma-informed practice and its application within education.
  • Be skilled in adaptive teaching and responsive curriculum delivery.
  • Demonstrate a relational approach to supporting behaviour, engagement and learning.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH.
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Be committed to equality, inclusion and ongoing professional development.
  • Be passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve success.

Information about the School

Hatfield Wick Education is an Accredited Alternative Education Provider for Essex that delivers education and therapeutic services for children and young people who cannot access learning in a mainstream setting.

We are commissioned by the Local Authority, schools, and families to provide educational and therapeutic support to children and young people with a diverse range of special educational needs, including:

• Anxiety / ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) • Asperger's • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) • ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) • Sensory Processing Disorder (auditory, visual, sensory, memory) • Attachment Disorder (including those associated with adoption & fostering) • Separation Anxiety Disorder

Our overarching goal is to identify challenges, remove obstacles and build strategies to help children and young people reach, maintain, and exceed their personal goals and boost their confidence and self-esteem. By doing this, they can return to mainstream education and continue to thrive.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
