Class Teacher (Reception) - Maternity Cover
Part-time (0.4 FTE) | Fixed-term
Working pattern: Monday and Tuesday
Start date: September 2026
We are seeking an excellent, positive and solutions‑focused Class Teacher to join our team from September 2026, providing maternity cover for our Reception class. This is a fixed‑term, part‑time position.
The successful candidate will be a committed and enthusiastic practitioner who places children at the heart of everything they do and who can inspire our youngest learners at the very start of their school journey.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a secure understanding of the EYFS Framework
- Is passionate about early childhood development
- Creates engaging, practical and hands‑on learning experiences
- Works collaboratively as part of a small and supportive team
- Is reflective, creative and committed to continual improvement
- Demonstrates flexibility and a positive, team‑focused approach
- Shows a clear commitment to the school's Christian ethos

Great Waltham Church of England VC Primary School is situated in the pretty village of Great Waltham catering for pupils from 4 - 11. The school was built in 1865 and has wonderful character and beautiful grounds.
